Back in the Summer of 1984, Radio Personality John Lockwood conceived, produced and hosted the first "Summer Sets" program. It was known then as "The Jersey Shore's Original Summer Music Program". Consisting of 3 or 4 songs, "Summer Sets with John Lockwood" was a featurette that lasted only 12 to 15 minutes. A certain year was highlighted with favorite music of that summer.
As time went by, however, the program evolved into what it is today. Sponsorships of "Summer Sets with John Lockwood" were offered- as well as eventually expanding to a full, one-hour show, premiering in the Summer of 2000. Also making its debut that summer were "Summer Sets Road Shows"!

One of the best things about "Summer Sets with John Lockwood" is that the music format is sometimes NO format! Where else can you hear both the original AND the Blues Brothers movie versions of "Think" by Aretha Franklin, summer "food" songs like "Cheeseburger in Paradise" by Jimmy Buffett and "Popsicle", a rarely played tune by Jan and Dean, "Wildwood Days" by Bobby Rydell and, yes, even "Sunshine Day" by (gulp!) the Brady Bunch- all in the same show?

"Summer Sets with John Lockwood" takes pride in always being unique- and fun! "Motown Moments", special theme shows, listener contests and requests... It's "Summer Sets with John Lockwood!
